Welcome Back to House of Six: A Fresh Start

Hello again, and welcome (or welcome back) to House of Six.

Welcome back!

House of Six is ready for a refresh.

If you’ve been here before, you might notice things look a little different on my landing page, and there may be some more refreshing to do. I took a break from this space because I wasn’t certain people were really interested in learning about small ways to save money, but I have a renewed purpose.

For those who are new, I’m so glad you’re here. For those who have been here before, thank you, and welcome back!

House of Six began as a way to share how I raised a family of six—four children, one income, and a whole lot of creativity when it came to making ends meet. Over the years, I’ve learned that saving money isn’t about deprivation. It’s about intention. It’s about small, steady choices that add up to something meaningful.

That part of House of Six isn’t going anywhere.

But as life changes, so do we. And lately, I’ve found myself drawn to something just as important as saving money—creating a life that feels calm, warm, and deeply comforting.

Because the truth is, it’s not just about how much we save. It’s about how we live.

What You’ll Find Here Now

House of Six is growing into a space that blends practical living with peaceful living. You’ll still find:

  • Simple, realistic ways to save money every day

  • Budget-friendly ideas that actually work in real life

  • Tips from years of running a household on one income

But alongside that, you’ll also start to see more of the everyday moments that make a home feel like a sanctuary:

  • Cozy routines that bring a sense of calm to your day

  • Simple pleasures—books, tea, quiet evenings at home

  • Ways to make your space feel warm and inviting without spending a lot

  • Thoughts on slowing down and enjoying what you already have

House of Six is growing:

I want to combine saving money in realistic ways with bringing a sense of calm and coziness to your home.

Because a peaceful life doesn’t have to be expensive. In fact, often it’s the opposite.

Why “House of Six” Still Matters

Even though my children are grown now, the heart of House of Six hasn’t changed. I still have three adult kids at home. My daughter moved back home last August due to changing circumstances. My youngest son is living with his girlfriend in a small apartment. So, physically, we are a House of Five, but realistically, given today's economy, it could become a House of Seven. Hopefully not, but money is tight for everyone.

But House of Six is still about family.
It’s still about making the most of what you have.
And it’s still about building a life that feels full—without needing more, more, more.

My beautiful family:

My kids and my husband at my nephew’s wedding.

Those years when the kids were growing up taught me something I carry with me every day: you don’t need perfect circumstances to create a good life. You just need a little intention, a bit of creativity, and a willingness to see beauty in the ordinary.

Looking Ahead

This next chapter of House of Six will also include continuing with my YouTube channel, where I’ll be sharing more of this life in a visual, everyday way—real routines, real tips, and real moments from home.

Nothing fancy. Nothing complicated. Just life as it is… with a cozy touch.

If you’re someone who wants to save money, slow down, and create a home that feels peaceful and lived-in, you’re in the right place.

I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to continue with this refreshed House of Six.
